How to restore the file

Create a dummy file, open it and create the backup file of it. Try restore that file to compare.

You can take Fiat Lux - ASIA suggestions above or create a back up copy and follow the steps below to restore your company file successfully. You'll need to open first QuickBooks and log in as administrator to your company file.

1. Go to the File menu.
2. Select Create Copy.
3. Click Portable company file and click Next.
4. Select Desktop in the File Explorer.
5. Hit Save. Then, OK.

Once done, restore a portable copy of your company file. Here's how:

1. Select Restore a portable file under the File menu. Then, select Next.
2. Select the file you would like to restore (it should have the extension .QBM) and click Open.
3. Click Next.
