I appreciate you getting back to me. I have tried saving the restored file on my external drive, downloads folder, company file folder, but its never there when I go back. I have been very careful about where I am saving it.
Right after I hit save as it goes back to the QB screen where you open a company.

It's also possible that you have limited access which why is you're unable to see the file after saving it in different locations.
When performing the restore process, the company file should be in QBB or QBM format to be visible. Also, it's required to save it to your local hard drive because devices like USB will not be recognized by our system.

Yes, thank you. I am trying to restore a *QBB file from my external hard drive
Then I try to save my file in my downloads file on my PC (picture attached)
Then once I hit save, it goes back to the previous screen I was on.
Also I tried contacting QB but it won't let me because of the corona virus so I posted here.
Try copy the file to your local machine and restore it. Once you are done, create a new backup file to copy to your external drive.
