thank you for your response. Unfortunately the directory with my company info is gone so the transaction file is gone too. If I can't use the account copy I think I'm screwed.

my company directory is gone so there is not a transaction file either. can I open the accountant copy on my computer? at least I can print out reports so i know what I need to repost.

I can provide you with some additional information about your company data. If you want to open the accountant copy, be sure to have the accountant version installed on your computer. Going forward, I suggest using the Intuit Data Protect service to back up your file so that it's on the cloud instead of locally on the computer. You can also set up the Intuit Data Protect to back up your files remotely once a day. Here are some of the requirements to run Intuit Data Protect:
