I upgraded Enterprise 2019 to 2020 my ODBC stopped working. trying to get resolved with Quickbooks and Flexquarter but I am shut down anyone have a solution for this?

Problem solved,

when I downloaded the 2020 version I thought I would test drive first before switching my company file. I guess that changed the version of ODBC to the 2020 version and would not work with my 2019. After I upgraded my company file to 2020 and download the ODBC driver everything works now. there is no easy way to find this driver. when I go to File to Utilities to setup ODBC it takes me to a window that has a link to "Download driver", that never works.

I can provide you some troubleshooting steps to resolve the error you're having, @DavidHS

This error can be caused by several possible reasons. One of which could be caused by a damaged Windows operating system.

To resolve this, try using the QuickBooks Refresher (QBRefresher) Tool. This will end all QuickBooks processes running in the background and performs a repair on your QuickBooks Desktop.

Here’s how:

  1. Close your QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise account and then download the QuickBooks Refresher Tool.
  2. After saving the file on your desktop, proceed and run the tool.
  3. Once you’re done, reopen your QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.

In case you’re still having an error, continue and perform the next solution which is to use the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool (QBInstall Tool). This will identify and fix issues with Microsoft components QuickBooks program uses.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Download the QuickBooks Install DiagnosticTool and save it to your local Desktop.
  2. Close any open programs and run the QBInstall Tool. This will take some time depending on your internet speed and the computer's performance.
  3. Once done, restart your computer and reopen your QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.

In case you’re still having an error, I suggest following the solutions provided from this article: Solutions for when QuickBooks stops working.

I’m always here if you still need further help in performing the troubleshooting steps provided above. Let me know by leaving a post below. Take care and enjoy the rest of the week.

@DavidHS ,

While you are still troubleshooting the problem with ODBC, utilize the trial period of 3rd party importer tool to work with your database system as temporary solution for QuickBooks user.
