QB 2019 Premier: I am trying to move to a new computer. I was able to get the Migration Tool to run on the old computer and finish the process of placing the data on the flash drive. On the new computer, I run the Move_Quickbooks.bat file and it pops up a Windows User Account Control window. I then select "YES" to allow it to make changes to this device. Then the UAC window goes away, but nothing else happens.
Any idea how to get the migration tool to run on the new computer?

Just to make sure I'm on the same page with you, after you run the Move_QuickBooks.bat file from your flash drive, did you get a prompt to enter the password you created? Any information you can share is extremely helpful for us to narrow things down.
In the meantime, you can re-run the .bat file and see if the same thing happens. Please note that the duration of the migration will depend on the speed of your computer and internet, and the size of your company file. If the migration tool does not work for you, you can reinstall your QuickBooks on the new computer using the manual download. Just make sure you have the most recent back up copy of the company file.

Once QuickBooks is installed, you can now restore the back up copy of company file from the old location to the new computer. Here's how:

NO. There wasn't any opportunity to enter password. After selecting YES from the User Account Control pop-up window, the UAC window closes, but nothing else appears to happen, even wait several minutes.

I’ve looked into this further, and it shows that there’s an open ticket about the Migrator tool not working (INV-29060). Our engineers are all hands on deck finding a solution to get the installer to run seamlessly.

I'm having the exact same symptom (after authorizing the migrator tool to run on the new computer, nothing happens, no password prompt or anything). It's now 4 weeks later and this has not yet been resolved? :smileysad: This is really sad that there has been NO update on this issue (on this posting). :smileysad:
We want to fix this as much as you do, KarinNeighbors.
At this time, our developers are still working very hard for a permanent resolution. Though there is no exact date, I'll personally update this thread if this issue will be fixed.
As what Risa-LilaM mentioned, I'd also suggest contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Customer Support Team so they can include you on the list of affected users.

It appears that the Migration Tool still has some issues. I am trying to move a copy of Desktop Premier 2017 to a new computer running Windows 10. It accepts the special password, I run the BAT file, but then I receive a message "Downloading Quickbooks Installer setup Failed, and nothing else happens.

You can run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic tool to fix the error you got. Then, migrate you file after.
Alternatively, you can create a backup or a portable copy of your company file. Then, download the QuickBooks Desktop Premier 2017 installer, run, and register it using your existing license number and product number. Just press F2 to get them.

Now do I run the BAT file again to continue the process?

On the new computer:
Once done, your migrator files will be auto-deleted from your USB flash drive. However, your QuickBooks files will still be on your old computer. Thus, changing its file name is greatly recommended to avoid using the wrong file.

If you don't have time troubleshooting the migration tool, it is better migrating it manually as JessT of QuickBooks Team has said earlier. May we know how big your file is?
I downloaded the latest file from the QB website, it loaded and installed fine,, or so it appeared. It did not ask to activate. When I open the QB program, it has the opening little screen with the moving dots for about 45 seconds, then it disappears. never gets to the password page.
