Thank you for letting us know what's happening to your Quickbooks Online for Mac desktop app. Let’s get your account up and running again.

 

Let's make sure that your computer meets the system requirements for QuickBooks Online app for Mac. If you're able to verify that the requirements are met, we can start clearing the cache in your QuickBooks app to refresh the connection.

 

Here's how to do it:

  1. Click Help.
  2. Choose Reset App Data.

If it's still doing the same thing, we can uninstall and reinstall the app.

 

To unistall:

  1. Drag the QuickBooks Windows app from the Applications folder to the Trash.
  2. To completely remove the app, go to Finder then choose Empty Trash.

To re-install:

  1. Visit this link: http://quickbooks.intuit.com/apps/.
  2. Scroll down to Get the QuickBooks Mac or Windows App section, click Free Download.
  3. Click Download Now.
  4. Select the QuickBooks.dmg file in the downloads section.
  5. Drag QuickBooks to the Applications folder.
  6. Launch the QuickBooks App and the program will load to the sign-on page.

Last Monday i updated quickbooks app and since then its not working.

I did the re- installation of the app several times as you suggested and nothing.

I contacted apple and the problem seems to be that their IOS Mojave is running on 64bit and your application is running on 32bit. so they are not compatible. Can you take a look and correct it?

Currently, we have an on-going issue where users suddenly encounter problems with logging in and working in QuickBooks Mac App after updating it. As a workaround, you'll have to access you QBO account using a browser and going to qbo.intuit.com.

 

I suggest contacting our Customer Care Support. This way, you'll be added to the list of affected users and be notified through your email once an update is up.

 

We appreciate you patiently waiting as we work on a fix.

I would like to leave my email as well as I am having the same problem apparently for the same reason.  Could you please fix the link to customer care?  It goes to a blank page.

Hi - I'm having this problem, too.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled and the program just won't open.  I'm working on a brand new MacBook Air, only a month old.  Any tips?  Thanks.

I had this issue last week.  Here's the fix.  Under "Help" at the top of the screen, select "Reset App Data."  Log back in and problem should be solved.

In tha app under "Help" in the menu bar at the top of the screen, select "Reset App Data," then reset it.  Log back in and your problem should be solved.

I am also having this problem on my iMac. “Reset App Data” sounds a little scary. Does this compromise your data in any way?

I'm glad to have you in the Community today. I'm here to help share some clarifications resetting your QuickBooks Online app.

 

Resetting your QuickBooks Online app doesn't compromise your data. This process is just to reload your app to remove unnecessary cache because the app stores pages in memory which may cause unusual behavior. That said your data will stay as it is.

 

To reset the app:

  1. Log out your QBO account.
  2. Hold down the Fn (function) key and open it again.
  3. It will ask if you want to Reset the app.
  4. Click the Reset button.
