Let me walk you through how to transfer data from QuickBooks Desktop to the Online version.
First, make sure to review the following information before you begin:
- You can only import Desktop data within the first 60 days of your Online account.
- There are a few import limitations and differences between the two products.
- Always maintain both sets of books before deciding QBO is the right version for your business.
Then, start the conversion process by logging in as the admin to both programs.
- Open the file by going to the Company menu.
- Choose Export Company File to QuickBooks Online.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to QBO.
