Why does the quickbooks self-employed app automatically copy something from the Messages app when logging in?

Hello @aotus,

Let me help share how your app seems to copy information on your mobile device.

To start with, the app may copy some information on your phone because of the permissions granted while using it. The suggestion shared by my colleague above is a good start for our troubleshooting steps.

But if it doesn't work, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support for further troubleshooting. With their tools, one of our specialists can look into your account to investigate and determine what is the root cause of this behavior.

To contact our dedicated support:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter App Issue in the Ask a question field.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Choose a channel where you wish to connect with our specialists.

Additionally, I've got you this helpful article for guidance in preparation for the 2020 tax season: QuickBooks Self-Employed Annual Tax Guide.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know by leaving any comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand.

Thanks for coming here, todd-b-slaby.

QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) doesn't automatically sync information from the Messenger app. We can try let’s uninstall and reinstall your QBSE app to refresh the connection.

For Android users, check out the steps below to uninstall QBSE:

  1. Select Settings from your app drawer or home screen.
  2. Tap Apps & Notifications to choose See all apps.
  3. Scroll down the list until you find the QuickBooks Self-Employed and then tap it.
  4. Press Uninstall.

 For iOS:

  1. Touch and hold any app on the Home screen and tap the Edit Home screen.
  2. The apps begin to jiggle.
  3. Tap on the QBSE and then hit Delete.
  4. Once done, swipe up from the bottom edge or press the Home button (on an iPad with a Home button).

To reinstall, click on the following link and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process: App Store.

For quick access to mobile app resources, see this article: Mobile applications hub.

Let me know if you have any follow-ups or other questions. I'm always here to help. Wishing you a good one.
