Welcome to the Community, @burkebill8

Currently, macOS Big Sur isn't compatible with the latest version of QuickBooks. This also includes 2018, 2019, and 2020 versions of QBDT. This is why you're unable to open your account.

I'd suggest you use the recommended operating system to access QuickBooks. Here's are the list of recommended specs you can open in QuickBooks for Mac:

  • Mac: OS X "Panther" 10.13 or newer.
  • Mac: OS X "El Capitan" 10.11 or newer.

Supported browser:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox. Note: To preview and print forms on Mac OS, you'll also need the Firefox PDF plugin.
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari 11 or newer (Mac only)

Should you need to downgrade your OS temporarily, reach out to the Macintosh Technical Support Team to access your company file in QuickBooks.

Additionally, here are the system requirements for QuickBooks for MAC versions:

Let me know if there's anything else you need help with. I'd be around to support.

Thank you for the quick reply. Does this also pertain to Selfemployed web browser based quickbooks?

I have tried different browsers etc, turned off virus protections etc. Never see the client tab mentioned on the left side of window and the page is blank where I assume the 1099 would be.

see attached screenshot.

Again Mac os big sur, M1 MacBook pro

Thanks again,

Bill

Good morning, @burkebill8! Thank you for coming back and clarifying. I don't see a screenshot attached, would you mind sending that again so we can take a look?

I see you're using QuickBooks Online Self Employed, so don't worry about Big Sur. You should definitely be seeing the Clients tab in your account. I know you've tried multiple browsers, but can we clear cache and cookies? That's definitely something we want to try to see if any old data is being held onto.

Once you try that, please reply to this post and let us know if it's still not working for you. We definitely want to help get your 1099 finished up!

Hi found the issue after speaking with customer service. Client sent 1099 to a different email account than I use to log into my selfemployed account with. Once I logged in with the email address from the 1099 notice all was fine.

Thanks so much for checking in on me.

Bill
