QB 2008 is not designed for or supported when using Windows 10. You were lucky to have made it work at all.  The solution is likely to use a newer version of QB that is designed for Windows 10.

As BRC said, an upgrade would be your best bet.  Running QBs for 10-11 years is a pretty good run on a software program.

But if you have the time and really want to give it a shot, you can try Win10's Compatibility Mode to see if you can get access to your files.  FIRST, go copy your QB data folder just to be safe.  Put it in another folder, the desktop, USB drive or wherever you want.  Just move it someplace safe to have a full copy.

On your desktop, delete or rename the QBs shortcut.  Then go to the program directory for QBs (probably: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 2008).  Not sure of the naming for QB2008, but you're looking for the main .exe file.  Depending upon if you have Pro or not it will be something like QBW32Pro.exe, QBW32.exe, QBW.exe.

When you find the file, Right Click and choose Properties then Compatibility.  Chick the box to Check Run this program in compatibility mode for:  and then choose Windows 7.  Click Apply and then close the Properties box.

Double click on the the QBs exe file and see what happens.  There's a strong chance that QBs will try and launch other exe files that won't run in Win10, but it's worth a shot.  If it does load....  Right Click on the .exe file again.  About 2/3 of the way down you'll see Send To Click on that and then click on Desktop (create shortcut).  That will put the shortcut back on the desktop.

You could go down the whole route of trying to reinstall the whole program in Compatibility Mode, but an upgrade really is probably you're best bet.

NOTE: You'll want to search for some of the Upgrade threads for the process and probably call QBs Support for some help.  You're going to need to upgrade your 2008 file to a couple of different versions between 2008 and 2019 for the upgrade to go smoothly.
