reinstall error

I'm having trouble reinstalling quickbooks.

Quickbooks is Ver.12.0 and I'm using Windows 10 -1909, the previous version is Windows 10-1903.

I followed up the almost ways on your website, but I can't fix it.

I figured out that quickbooks 2012 is not compatible with windows 10.

Then, is the only way for me to buy quickbooks 2020?

One more question.

When I try to create local back up, I faced an error that a data value has exceeded the maximum value allowed.

Before I reinstall quickbooks, I have to backup, right?

Let me know the ways I can solve these problems.

QB 2018-2020 supports Win 10-1903. We have noticed a few issues on Win 10-1909.

Windows 10 doesn't support QB 2012 and we don't recommend running an unsupported QB version on a supporting Windows OS (i.e Win 8.1 or Win 10).

Try open your data file on a trial license of QB 2020

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/new-subscriptions/download-a-trial-of-quickbooks-d...

Once the conversion is completed, you can purchase the license later. For QB 2020 Pro 1 user, you may purchase it for $300 directly or around $200 thru a partner/reseller.

Thank you for your reply.

I have one more question.

Then if I buy and use QB 2020, can I use existing company file?

Because I tried it in trial version 2020, but I failed so I'm very worried about it.

Hey there, ash27.

Allow me to step in and share some information regarding using an existing company file in QuickBooks Desktop.

To answer your question, yes, you can use the existing company file in QuickBooks Desktop as long as you have the backup data saved. However, the Windows 10 version 1909 is currently unsupported.

You can go through this article to check which versions of Windows 10 that are compatible with QuickBooks: Which Windows 10 version works best for QuickBooks Desktop?

If you need to switch back to the older version of Windows, the assistance of an IT professional is a must.

I'm including these resources to know more about QuickBooks 2020:

Stay in touch with me if you need anything else. I’ll be around to help. Have a good one.

It seems you are unable to convert your data file of 2012 directly to 2020. You may convert it to any version of 2013-2019 as the stepping stone. Contact Intuit Data Service to help your or consider purchasing a 3rd party conversion service.

Thank you for your reply.

Could you recommend me which version of QB is compatible with Windows 10 - 1903?

If you are not in charge of it, it would be thankful you let me know where I can get the information.
