Hello mcnamee-patrick,

What specific error message/code did you receive when accessing the Banking page? This would help us review our system for any reported bugs or open investigations.

Meanwhile, manual update can fix some of the bank errors:

  1. In the Banking page, click the Update button.
  2. Enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials if prompt.
  3. Select Continue.

Additional troubleshooting steps are also provided in this link.

I'd be glad if you can provide more details about the error you received. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for reaching back out, @mcnamee-patrick.

Basically, if you've encountered unusual behavior while working on your QuickBooks, it's recommended to try accessing your QuickBooks using a private window. This is to test if the problem is browser-related.

Here are the different keyboard shortcuts to open a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Internet Explorer: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

At times, the stored data can cause some odd errors and simply needs to be cleared from the browser. If using a private window works fine, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. I'm including an article that goes over this in more depth and provides steps for supported browsers: Delete or disable cache and temporary internet files in your web browser.

If doing this doesn't make a difference, I'd suggest reaching out to our Customer Care Team. They can run a remote viewing session to help verify what's causing the issue.

I want to ensure that this gets taken care of for you, so please feel free to update me by posting a comment below. Cheering you to continued success in all of your endeavors.

I'm not accessing through a web browser but through a windows based app.  On the dashboard, in the Bank Accounts box it has a pic of a pair of shoes and says "Our shoe came untied.  We're sorry.  Please check again later."

As soon as I close the app and reopen in works.

Thanks for clarifying the type of QuickBooks you’re using, mcnamee-patrick.

The error you’re getting is usually triggered by a corrupted files in the cache. The steps provided by my colleague above is the common troubleshooting steps for this.

Since you’re using the App for Windows, here’s how you can clear the app’s cache:

  1. Select Help.
  2. Choose Reset App Data.

If this won’t work, I’d recommend proceeding to uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Please refer to How do I install the app and How do I uninstall the app section in this article: General support
