Yes and this is not it. Program locks up and drops offline and closes without warning. Losing data is commonplace. Tech support is non exist and the process you have to go through to get it is hideous.

Every time I access from different device I have to verify device with txt code and as soon as I move to another device it forgets all about the one I just verified. Tech support tells me I need to run on ie because it doesn't play nice with chrome. I despise this program and if there was anything else to use I would try it. They must have a whole team that does nothing but figure out how to make this program more annoying and difficult to use.

This happens when your account's two-step verification setting is turned on, nfaubel1.

We always take serious actions to protect the security of your account. With that being said, we give our customers two options to verify their account. These are the Multi-Factor Authentication and Two-step Verification. The first verification process can't be turned off. You'll only be asked to enter a code once, if you're using a new device. The second option, or the one that always sends the code through a text message, can be disabled.

If you're using an Incognito window or recently cleared the browsers cache, it'll make the device unrecognizable.

To disable the SMS code, simple follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Intuit Online Account.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Select the Turn off link.

If your QBO account closes unexpectedly, this means that it has been inactive. The time of inactivity is based from the time that you last clicked Save. So if you walked away from the computer for 20 minutes, you could be signed out when you get back. Because even if you only left for 20 minutes or less, it has been longer since you last saved a transaction. If you're the Master Admin of the company file, you can set the company settings to keep you logged in for 3 hours.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Under Your Company, choose Account and Settings.
  3. Go to the Advanced tab.
  4. Click the pencil icon to edit the Other Preferences section.
  5. Set the hour to Sign Me Out If Inactive for.
  6. Click Save and then Done.

To get in touch with us, you can get our current phone number here.

Please know that I'm always here if you need more help with QuickBooks. Just leave a reply, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Try using their payroll service.  Support is pathetic, they've lock us out and we have no way to run reports.  They of course have no problem taking the monthly service fee...

I appreciate you joining this thread and voicing out your feedback, @hdpj.

Allow me to step in and share some insights about QuickBooks Self-Employed application.

To ensure that the charges or the correct amount will show on the Taxes column, you'll have to update your application.

Meanwhile, we're aware that the Fuel Mileage deduction on the dashboard is showing an incorrect amount (0.54 instead of 0.58). Our engineers are diligently working to fix this issue in a timely manner. I advise going to the Mileage tab to view the correct calculation.

I encourage you get in touch with our QBSE team to be added on our list of affected users for INV-25551. That way you'll receive automatic email updates.

Regarding Mileage pay and vehicle insurance, we calculate amounts using the standard mileage method of deducting other vehicle expenses. Set up and categorize them correctly to ensure amounts will post. For in-depth information, you can check this link: Schedule C Car and truck.

That should be enough information to keep you going today, @hdpj.

Keep me posted on how it goes or if you have any follow-up questions. I'll be here if you need further assistance. Take care.

I love QB online, when it works correctly. We have been using QB products for over 10 years. I really like the program for the most part, but, I am losing that loving feeling!

Lately, there have been so many glitches and errors, that I am about done with it.

There are multiple frustrating problems, one is not being able to have more than one person with the same name! I have asked QB for years to fix this issue.  I have many people with the same first and last name. I have people who have multiple homes that we go to them so I have to get creative with names to be able to add them to the data base. The problem comes when the tech prints out the invoice in the field. Names with #’s or other wording after them is not professional looking.

Recently, I have noticed that the PO number gets changed to some unknown codes. It looks fine until you print it or after you save the invoice it gets changed.

Another issue, our Contractors Plumbing license # has to be on the invoices legally, but it magically disappeared about a month ago.  We just caught it. I’m hoping no one else notices so that we don’t get fined.

I Called QB. I was told they know about these issues and are working on them.

Now, every time I save an invoice and try to close out, it asks me if I want to save it! Really!

AHHHHHHH!

Lines are going black where I have to put in parts or labor discriptions. It covers up the line above or below completely.

A drop down box that I have clicked on stays on, covering up parts of the invoice that I am working on.

They said that I may want to try another browser. I am using MAC/Apple computers, lap top, iPad and iPhones to access and work on these. They don’t either recognize another browser or won’t function in a timely manner on another browser.

To say that we are frustrated is an Understatement.

Now they want more money per month.

YES! The windows 10 Quickbooks Online SUCKS!!! Its always freezing up and "Not Responding". Then when it does respond and a customer (or anything else) is clicked on it takes forever for that action to occur. When I try to print an invoice or any other PDF the program crashes. The only way to print Invoices is to save them on my computer and afterwards open in in Acrobat then print it. What the f#*K is up with everything in Spanish!?!?!?!?!?!?! When I go to send a customer an invoice the email message wants to autocorrect everything in SPANISH! WTF!!! Quickbooks (the companyt) already sucks and is overpriced! Especially PAYROLL! WHATS WITH ALL THE EXTRA FEES??????

Hi there, adam0607.

If you're using QuickBooks app for Windows, let's check if your computer meets the QuickBooks App for Windows and Mac system requirements.

If you meet the system requirements, you can clear cache your QuickBooks app to refresh the program.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Help at the top menu bar.
  2. Choose Reset App Data.

Then, try accessing your QuickBooks app or printing an invoice again.

If the same thing happens, you can uninstall and reinstall the application. Just follow the steps in How do I install the app? and How do I uninstall the app? section in the article that I've provided above.

Then, you'll need to check your computer settings to see if English is the default language set up on it.

On the other hand, the price increase is tied to product enhancements, future product development, and improved features with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Payroll Service.

For more details about the price increase, you can check out these articles:

Visit the Community if you need anything else in QBO.

Customer service is non existent. I’ve had an annoying pop up since February that locks up my program. I’ve called nine (9) times, with each call taking at least an hour of my time. No one can resolve the issue. I had to get into a yelling match with a representative to give me an email so that I could send a screen shot of the problem, it’s now September 24, and the problem persists. Today, out of frustration I made the 10th call after having to shut down and restart the program twice only to be informed that telephone support is no longer available and to go to the intuit website for help.

if/when someone creates a competing program with some basic respectable customer service, they’ll be rich.

Hi there, hdpj.

I've tried to replicate it on my end. These are the steps to follow to see the transactions under Gas and fuel category if you're using QuickBooks Self-Employed.

  1. Go to Taxes tab and select Annual.
  2. Click on the Vehicle deduction section.
  3. Under Category, look for Gas and fuel. Then, click on the corresponding amount.

You'll be routed to the list of the Gas and fuel transactions.

I've also tried to record it on QuickBooks Online and it works without any error. You can use this article about tracking mileage as your guide. We can also perform troubleshooting steps to see if what you're experiencing is a cause of browser error. Let's open and use an incognito window. If it works, we'll just need to clear the cache on your regular browser. Too much cache can be a reason of unusual behavior in QuickBooks. I'd suggest clearing them regularly to avoid this from happening again.

I'm just a post away if you need my help.

I am trying to setup payroll and I enter the information in the direct deposit form and I have clicked Submit multiple times and nothing happens. I'm wondering what is going on. The application is not doing anything, but there is no feedback to tell me what is going on. This is THE WORST APPLICATION i HAVE EVER USED!!!

I just started my business and got desktop POS and quickbook desktop as well as payroll, but I think I'll just cut my losses and find a new solution because this won't work for me.

Hi pissedUser,

I know how you want to set up payroll so you can pay your employees. You can download the latest tax table before you set up payroll in QuickBooks. Let me walk you through how.

  1. Go to the Employees menu and select Get Payroll Updates.
  2. Select the Download Entire Update checkbox. Then, select Download Latest Update. A window appears when the download is complete.

Once done, you can set up payroll  and sign up for direct deposit. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Employees menu, select My Payroll Services, then Activate Direct Deposit.
  2. Complete and review the form. In the Verify Your Company Information section.
  3. Select View Agreement. Once looked over, select the I have read and agree to the terms of service agreement checkbox.
  4. In the Check Security Limits section, answer the questions provided.
  5. Click Submit. (If nothing happens after selecting Submit, remove all the information on the form. This includes information from the Edit links. Manually re-enter the information, then select Submit again.)
  6. A Confirmation page appears with the Next Steps instructions, which you can print.
  7. Select Return to QuickBooks at the bottom.

Here's an article for more information  on how to set up direct deposit: Set Up Direct Deposit.

I have this link in case you have other questions about payroll: Payroll And Workers.

So I have QB Pro 2014.  I don't use it often so I forgot the password.  After several attempts, finally started a chat to get help.  I was told that my version was no longer supported and I had to upgrade to be able to use the program.  So they are basically holding my accounting information ransome!!  I cannot access the program at all.  Seems like that should be illegal.

Hey there, @SW123456789.

We aim to provide the best customer experience when using the product. Let's utilize the Automated Reset Password Tool, so you can access the company file.

You’ll still be able to use QuickBooks 2014 when performing any accounting processes. However, if you have any of the add-on services (Payroll, Technical Support, Payments, and Online Banking), these options will no longer work.

To view the complete list of affected features, check out the QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy and upgrade information article.

Let’s use the Automated Password Reset Tool to change the old password and create a new one. Here’s how:

  1. In your browser, enter this link: https://passwordreset.quickbooks.com/app/qbdt/passwordreset.
  2. It will display the Automated Password Reset Tool page.
  3. From there, input your information including the license number.
    reset.png
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Check out the Use the Automated Password Reset Tool for QuickBooks Desktop article for more information. It provides an overview of the information you’ll have to input to generate a new token.

For additional questions or concerns, post a comment below. I'll jump right back in to assist further. Have a good one.
