Transferring clients to new account

I created a new quickbooks account because I've messed up so much on my old account. I want to start fresh for this new year with a new account. However, I still want my clients to be transferred to my new account. I do want to transfer all the old jobs just the jobs from 2018 since those are the most recent jobs. I've been trying for hours but I have had no luck. Is that even possible to do ?

Transferring clients to new account

Hi there, @Anonymous.

Currently, it isn't possible to export your jobs (or projects) in QuickBooks. However, you have the option to export and import your client list.

To start, you'll need to print out your Sales by Customer Summary report to have a list of customers you've transacted with last 2018.

Here's how:

1. On the left panel, click on Reports.
2. On the search bar, type Sales by Customer Summary.
3. Change the date range to Last year.
4. On the upper part of the report, click on the Print icon.

Then, here's how you can export your 2018 customer list:

1. On the left panel of your old account, hover your mouse on Sales, and click on Customers.
2. Using the report, tick the boxes with the name of your customers for 2018.
3. Above the Action column, click on the Export to Excel button.
4. Save the exported file on your computer.

Lastly, follow these steps to import your customer list to your new account:

1. Click on the Gear icon, choose Import Data.
2. Select Customers from the list.
3. In the Import Customers page, select Browse.
4. Open the exported file.
5. Click on Next to continue. Note that if you are missing important data on the list, it will be highlighted in red, and if your data is complete, you'll see a check mark.
6. Select Next.
7. Adjust your data if there are fields highlighted in red, then select Import.
