I'm updating from QuickBooks for Mac 2013 to 2019, and I'm having trouble opening a company in QuickBooks 2019. QuickBooks 2013 is on a different computer, so the company was backed up onto a flash drive and brought to the computer with QuickBooks 2019, but when I try to open the company I can see it, but it's gray and I can't choose it.
How do I get the company transferred to the new version?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Assuming your backup file is a .dmg it will have to be mounted (opened) outside of QB. Once mounted drag the company file to your documents folder, from QB use file>open company and navigate to the company file.
