Join nowHello QB Community. I can't load my QB2010 copy on my new Windows 10 computer. How do I upgrade on new computer but keep my old data base? I still have it on my Windows 7 computer. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

I can provide you with some information on this issue.
As of January 14, 2020, Microsoft no longer provides security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7. Computer running on Windows 7 will be more vulnerable to viruses and security risks. That's why Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 10. Below is a link that you can check out to learn more information about Windows 7.
Before going any further into moving your company file from one computer to the other, you'll need to upgrade to Windows 10.
Afterward, I suggest contacting our Support Team so they can help you upgrade your QuickBooks Desktop account to the newest version. They have advanced tools to help upgrade and migrate your company file. Here's how:
4. Click Contact Us.
5. Type in your question or a brief message about your issue, then press Continue.
6. Scroll down and choose to Get a Callback.

Imho, it is not relevant using QB 2010 on Win 10. Keep using it on your Win 7. You may also try running it in compatibility mode Win 7 on Win 10. If the problem still persists, it is time upgrading your QB version.
Thank you Candace, I have successfully transferred my QB 2010 to my new Windows 10 computer. I am going to download QB 2020 and load. Hopefully all my data transfers over correctly. Should just be an upgrade. I will be back if I have any issues. Have a good day.
