Hi,

I run QB Pro Desktop 2014 on Windows 7 and am getting new computer with Windows 10.  I will buy the QB Desktop Pro Plus 2022 product for the new machine.  I know I need to put the QBB file on the new machine and "restore from backup" when I open the new program.  My question is whether the new program will accept the 2014 backup directly?  OR...do I need to go through QB Support to first do a conversion to an intermediate product between 2014 and 2022?

I'm also wondering if there is a lower tier desktop product?  I see QB Desktop Pro Plus 2022 as the lowest tier.  Is there a QB Desktop Pro 2022 (NOT PLUS)?

Thanks

You may need to install the trial license for QBD 2019 as the first step. Contact us in private and we can share the trial code. They only offer QBD 2022 with the annual subscription license, except QBD 2022 Accountant edition. You can still purchase QBD 2021 Pro/Premier with the one time license from several partners if required.

Thank you for the quick reply!  How do I contact you "in private" to get the trial 2019 key and also the 2019 software download link?

Also, I have tried to find the one-time purchase 2021 DT Pro version unsuccessfully.  Do you have a link or name of who I can try contacting?

Same issue here.  I tried to update from 2014 to 2022 and it seemed to work but when I put in my password QuickBooks just closes.

Hi, cratervet.

I've got some information and troubleshooting steps to share with you.

To single out this issue, let's run the Refresher tool to end QuickBooks processes running in the background. Please follow these steps to perform a mini repair on your software:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the Refresher tool.
  3. Save the file on your desktop.
  4. Run the QBRefresher tool.
  5. Re-open QuickBooks Desktop.

If the issue persists, you can follow the additional steps outlined in this article: Solutions for when QuickBooks stops working.

From there, you shouldn't have any further issues after running the tool.

Keep me posted how this turns out. I want to ensure this matter gets resolved.
