Verify Payroll Subscription Issue

Hello, 

I don't know if anyone would be able to help but I just recently updated by Quickbooks Desktop to Quickbooks Desktop 2020 but when I go to verify my payroll subscription it shows the attached picture. Does anyone know how to resolve this? I've tried deleting my company file and starting over but the same error pops up and doesn't go away and won't let me into my file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for visiting the Community, @newbie23. I appreciate you for sharing the screenshot of the exact error message you've received.

 

As per checking on our records, there's an investigation going on for this issue under INV-33239. Our engineers are currently researching why these errors are occurring. They are requesting log files and system details from users that are experiencing these errors. 

 

With that being said, I'd suggest you contact our QuickBooks Customer Care team so they can get your details required by the investigation team. That way, you'll be added to the list of affected users and will get updates about its progress via email.

Verify Payroll Subscription Issue

I am also having the same issue as newbie23.  I can't get into QuickBooks and do anything.  Has there been any resolution on this?  I was able at first to cancel the "looking for subscription" and then go into my files but now I can't do that.  I desperately need to do this to get my books done and all my data is basically locked up at this point. Help please!!!!

Verify Payroll Subscription Issue

For now, the most recent update that I have is that our Payroll Team is actively working to get this issue resolved. While they do, I would advise you to get in touch with our QuickBooks Support.

 

This way our engineers can add your account information to the list of affected users and attach your account to the ongoing investigation. Any progress will be communicated via email.

 

As a workaround, I'd suggest running QuickBooks as Administrator. You can follow the steps below.

 

Solution 1. Run as Administrator:

 

  1. Open the Windows Start menu.
  2. Type “QuickBooks” into the search.
  3. You should see your results listed in the Search window.
  4. Right-click on the QuickBooks version and year you wish to open.
  5. Select Run as administrator. Shows the Run as administrator option when you right-click on QuickBooks Desktop
  6. Run the payroll update.
  7. Once complete, close QuickBooks and open it normally (not running as admin).

If you're still getting the same issue, you can go through this article and proceed to Solution 2: How to fix payroll errors: “The file you specified cannot be opened” and “The file exists”
