please help: I have QB for mac 2016 , my Accountant will buy QB 2017 for Windows , he will send me a copy of comany file for mac from 2017 , I will can open it in mac 2016 version

We tested QuickBooks Mac 2016 with QuickBooks Windows 2017. It should be compatible.

I'm finding QB Mac 2015 R8 buggy. . to the 2016 QB Mac users, is it worth me upgrading? I'm having issues with printing reports (having ****) and also an issue with viewing split transactions.

Are you on Sierra? QuickBooks Mac 2015 R8 and QuickBooks Mac 2016 both have reports of crashes on Sierra. In the case of 2015 R8 the code has been out for over a year on El Cap without problems. We of course tested against Sierra and saw no problems but there are reports in the field and we are trying to figure out how to reproduce them to fix them.

There will not be anymore new versions of Quickbooks Desktop for Mac. Same mistake intuit made before. (I think it was 1998).

You don't need to switch to QB Online; you can run Parallels or VM Ware or other simulated Windows OS to run any Windows version of QB, which means Mac users can now get Premier functionality.

While there may be no plans for a paid update to QuickBooks Mac we are still developing features for it and will release an upgrade for free to the 2016 version (like we did last September).

Why would a Mac user want to pay for emulation software (Parallels, etc.) which also requires a legal copy of windows. Run a full version of windows, with all the problems windows has (Virus, spyware and MS updates that crash the machines) if they don't have to.

Intuit must feel it the Mac market is no longer worth of yearly releases, which they charge an upgrade price for each year. I think intuit is trying to force Mac users into the online version.

I think intuit will lose a lot of its Mac clients to AccountEdge which is cross platform, and is pretty much equal to Quickbooks Enterprise in features and sells for the price of Quickbooks Pro

@garyacraig The Mac program has never come in "editions" or Flavors. You never had Pro or Premier. Further, Intuit is dropping QB for Mac in 2019. If you want to stay with QB, then you would run a Windows emulation. Intuit wants us peer users to move to QB Online; that was never a good tool for me or my clients.

Quick question. I'm currently running the 2015 version of QuickBooks on my Mac. Ever since the Sierra release last Fall, it has not run efficiently, and the program is filled with bugs. I've grown quite tired of the annoyances. I see a thread here that there won't be a 2017 version for Mac. Is that correct? If so, will my data (I have invoices from 2008 - today, as well as my invoice templates, etc) transfer to the 2017 Windows version? Is there a discount to purchase the 2017 Windows version, since I am a current QuickBooks customer?
