Will Quickbooks for Mac 2015 Desktop work on macOS High Sierra?

Will Quickbooks for Mac 2015 run on macOS High Sierra?

I'm afraid to upgrade my macOS to High Sierra and then not be able to access my Quickbooks.

The current version of QuickBooks Mac 2015 is R15. I'm able to download R15 from the link SkinnyRaven provided. Your problem is you are trying to launch R7 on High Sierra. R7 isn't compatible with High Sierra as it uses Garbage Collection which Apple stopped supporting. R15 doesn't.

Also you sent me an accusatory email message but spoofed your return email address so I can't reply to you. .

Thank you for your reply. Issues: the "download" button on the link provided by default downloads the first of two files associated with it, which is the old one; there's little indication that there are two files hidden behind that download button. The discussion board is eating posts while indicating it's accepting them, making this conversation extra difficult. That was a legit email I sent you, you're just assuming it's a spoofed address, or your mail filtering technology is as poor as some of your other technology, and refuses to send to a valid address with the string 'buggy' in it.

I gave you the link you want above.  The problem is me. I'll remove myself from the conversation.

Yes.  Once you update be sure to run QuickBooks->Check for Updates.

I have the latest update and can run Quickbooks but the backups are failing to create an image. Is there a fix for this?

I upgraded my macOS to High Sierra yesterday, but I can't open the QuickBooks application to check for updates. How do I update it for High Sierra?

THIS IS SIMPLY WRONG. Fully updated my QBP Mac '15, installed High Sierra, app is clearly indicated as not being compatible. Prior to the final update of the app, there were links in the update windoid pointing to the deprecation notice, but those URLs 404'd. Now, Quickbooks wants a minimum of $200 more to fulfill this promise form an Intuit employee on an Intuit message board.

What release number is your fully updated QB Mac.

2015 should be compatible with High Sierra. Hit the link Skinny Raven gave three messages ago. It sounds to me like you have an old version. In particular your version doesn't support Automatic Reference Counting and relies on Garbage Collection so it won't launch on High Sierra (Apple removed Garbage Collection APIs from High Sierra). However it is true that 2015 is no longer supported and my "promise" of 15 months ago is also not supported. But it was accurate at the time (and still is I believe but I'm not promising!)

Thanks, but no joy. I also checked the link that SkinnyRaven provided. Not only does the application on the disk image of the downloaded version clearly show as non-compatible, even prior to install in /Applications, but the downloaded version is even older (16.0.6.1508 R7) than my version (16.0.6.1516 R07.2) and a few KB smaller. In theory, it should be possible to launch the downloaded version from the disk image, but I get "you can't use this version of the app with this version of macOS" there as well. For full details of app and OS versions, and demonstration that even the disk image is incompatible, take a look at: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://buggysoftware.com/buggy/QBP.png">http://buggysoftware.com/buggy/QBP.png</a>.

Not sure what you got going on there. That's not the file I get when downloading from the link.

There button leads to two different versions depending on what OS you choose. One of the links is for Mavericks. One is for OSs that come after Mavericks.  I don't know why you aren't seeing the button properly in your browser. The link you want is this one:

This did solve my problem. Thank you. I would claim it's exceedingly poor UI to have a large "download" button and a small "select the non-default action for this download button". Form trumps function again.  And the message boards temporarily suppressing messages (or requiring deferred approval with no indication that's happening, or only showing responses prior to the "jump_to_answer" get-arg, or whatever is happening) aren't making solving these problems easier. The Captcha is absurd, as well.
