Set up accountant access to QuickBooks Time

How to Request Accountant Access

If you would like your accountant to easily access your QuickBooks Time account, follow these steps to send the request.

Note: This option may not be available in your account at this time. Follow How To Grant Accountant Access below instead.

  1. Go to Company Settings > Accountant Access.
  2. Enter your accountant's email and name, then select Send Invite.
  3. Your accountant will receive an email, inviting them to create a QuickBooks Time PRO account, or sign into an existing account.

How To Grant Accountant Access

If your accountant already has a QuickBooks Time account, they can request access to your account.

  1. When an accountant requests access to your QuickBooks Time account, you will receive an email from QuickBooks Time Notification. Open the email, and select Grant Access.
    Note: If you do not have a QuickBooks Time account, select Start my FREE Trial to set one up!
  2. You will be prompted to log in to QuickBooks Time. You may also be prompted to input your QuickBooks Time URL if your username is associated with more than one QuickBooks Time account.
  3. In the Accountant Access message, review the request, and select Grant Access.
  4. If you manage multiple QuickBooks Time accounts, make sure that the correct name is displayed in the message.

How to Revoke Accountant Access

  1. Go to Company Settings > Accountant Access.
  2. Select Revoke Access.
