Give administrator rights to a user

Learn how to give administrator rights to a user in QuickBooks Online.

A user with administrator rights can do more than other users, such as sending money, changing passwords, adding users, and importing data. This article shows you how to assign administrator rights to an existing user.

Note:  Only Master or  Company administrators are able to follow these steps.

Complete the following steps to give a user administrative privileges:

  1. Select Settings ⚙️, then Manage users.
  2. To edit the user, select Edit in the Action column.
  3. From the User Type drop-down, select Admin.
  4. Select Save and close.
