Learn what's needed to start accepting Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) cards with QuickBooks Payments.
To accept Flexible spending cards (FSA/HSA), you must meet some requirements. Here’s a list of what these are and some tips when you’re already authorized.
Requirements to start accepting Flexible spending cards
If you're in any of these groups, you may be eligible to accept FSA/HSA cards.
- IRS-approved medical practitioners
- IRS-approved dental practitioners
- IRS-approved eye care practitioners
- IRS-approved pharmacy practitioners
Tip: You can view your current industry type in the Merchant Service Center.
Reasons FSA/HSA card transactions are declined
- Funds aren’t available.
- The card is expired.
- The cardholder is over the limit.
Note: Tell your customer to call the number at the back of their card to know the status of their FSA/HSA card.
