What to do before your QuickBooks Self-Employed subscription from TurboTax Self-Employed expires

Learn what to do if your free subscription of QuickBooks Self-Employed is ending soon.

If your free subscription of QuickBooks Self-Employed is ending soon, you can continue using it by upgrading your account to a paid subscription. If you don't plan to use QuickBooks Self-Employed anymore, we'll show you how to export your data before your subscription ends so you have your info for tax time.

Option 1: Pay for your QuickBooks Self-Employed subscription

After your subscription ends, the next time you sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed you'll be asked to subscribe to continue using your account. Just select the subscribe option and then choose which subscription you’d like. Enter your billing details and then you’re all set to continue tracking your self-employed income and expenses.

Option 2: Export your QuickBooks Self-Employed data

We want to make sure you get the most out of your data before your subscription ends. After it ends, you won't be able to access or edit your QuickBooks Self-Employed data.

If you want to use your QuickBooks Self-Employed tax info for the current tax year, follow these steps to export your data to TurboTax Self-Employed before your subscription ends.

If you don't plan to use TurboTax or QuickBooks anymore, download tax reports from QuickBooks Self-Employed.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Go to the Reports menu.
  3. Find the Tax summary and Tax details reports.
  4. Select tax years you want reports for. Then select Download.
