1099 State Payer ID

We are in NJ and when running the 1099 selection under Vendors it instructs us that we need to enter our NJ State Payer ID. However we are not sure where it needs to be entered so it is saved and printed when we do a preview. There is a column on the "Verify Vendor" screen but when we enter the ID on the desired vendors it doesn't appear when we print preview.. Where does the Payer State ID need to be entered so that it printgs on the 1099 form ?

1099 State Payer ID

I can share some information about filing a Form 1099-NEC or Form 1099-MISC to the state of New Jersey, @arnoldf

New Jersey requires you to have a New Jersey withholding ID. Your ID should be the abbreviation for New Jersey (NJ) and your 12 digits NJ withholding ID.

When preparing your form, you can enter this information from the Verify your 1099 info page under the State & Payer's State No. column. For detailed guidance, refer to this article: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Desktop.

To learn more about your state's requirements for filing 1099s, check out this article: File your state 1099 forms.

Also, you'll want to know how to access and print your other tax forms to save a copy for future use. Please refer to this article for the detailed steps: View and print payroll tax forms.

I'm always here if you have more questions about managing your payroll forms in QBDT. I'd be glad to hear more from you in the comment section. Take care and enjoy the rest of the day.
