Thank you for reaching back out, @bstoli.

I’ll be more than happy to further assist you with why you’re still pulling 2018 vendors and not 2019 vendors. After going through the QuickBooks Desktop 1099 Wizard it will connect to the Tax 1099 service and import your data. This feature will be updated in mid-January. Be sure to e-file before January 30th so that your 1099s will be postmarked to your contractors by January 31st.

Thank you for posting, @RCD230

At this time, your vendor data for 2019 is still unavailable. This will usually be visible at the end of the year. Also, that will be the time when the majority of the supported changes are released.

Just make sure to always have the latest payroll update. You can download the latest tax table in QuickBooks Desktop by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Employees menu and click Get Payroll Updates.
  2. Select the Download Entire Update checkbox. Then, select Download Latest Update. You’ll get notified when the download is complete.

RE: How can I get it to use this year's data?

The only way is to change your computer's date to next year, then run the wizard, then change it back.

It's now January 3, 2020 and the 1099 wizard is still pulling up 2018, not 2019.  Anyone else having the same issue?

Thanks for posting in the Community, @bstoli.

The unexpected behavior that you're getting when creating 1099 is usually resolved by updating QuickBooks Mac Desktop to the latest release. This is to make sure the fixes, improvements, and recent changes, like 1099 updates are installed.

To update the software, you can follow these steps:

  1. From the QuickBooks drop-down menu, select Check for QuickBooks Updates.
  2. Select Install Update.
  3. When prompted, select Install and Relaunch.

Once the update is complete, QuickBooks for Mac automatically opens. You may need to revisit the set up in your company file to print or e-file the form. You may refer to the following articles for the steps, as well as some dates you should be aware of when you file it:

Please let me know if you have any other concerns or issues, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. I'm more than willing to assist. Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks, but I am running the latest release:   QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2020 version V19.0.2 R3

I checked my company set-up and it is correct.  Still pulling 2018 vendors.

Further to my last message, when looking at the Step 3 "Review and Adjust Checks" in the 1099 Wizard, when I click "View Included Payments" it is defaulted to "Last Fiscal Year" which shows 2018.  When I change the view to the current fiscal year it shows 2019, however it will not stay in 2019 when I move on to Step 4.

Also, when I change the date to "Today" it shows December 17, 2019, so Quickbooks is not recognizing the current date.  Any idea how to resolve this?

If you use an account register or a new transaction form like a check or invoice, then click in a date field and then press the letter "t", what is the resulting date?  If Dec 17, then your computer's date is wrong.

Also, in the 1099 wizard the date filters should never use the Fiscal Year as that's not relevant for 1099 tax forms.  It should always be a Calendar Year.  So that's a strange thing to see in the wizard.

Thanks Emily M.  I'll try again mid-month to see if it updated.

Thanks for this feedback.  Just pressed letter "t" in my check register date area and it came up December 17, however my computer date is correct...shows January 3, 2020.

In regards to the Wizard filters, definitely shows "fiscal" option as shown in attached screen shot.

Weird that QB has a different current date than your computer. I've not seen that before, but then I haven't use QB Mac for awhile.  Same for the date ranges; they're completely inappropriate.  QB windows doesn't do this.
