Access QB Desktop

When I try to open my QuickBooks, I get a message saying my QB Desktop has expired.  To continue using I must buy QB Desktop now.  I bought QB Pro 21 early this year.  Does it require a subscription to continue using it?  If so, it is an annual fee?  It appears to be about $400. Although I have a current backup, I will need to access my accounts.

Login to your CAMPS and check your license status. Did you purchase a license of QB Desktop 2021 Pro or QB Desktop 2021 Pro Plus?

I purchased a download of Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2021 for WIN. I would check CAMPS, but I do not know what that is. Can you point me in the right direction?

I can share some information about CAMPs @mek543.

 

CAMPS or Customer Account Management Portal for QuickBooks Desktop is where you can manage your accounts, products, contacts, billing, and user ID access. 

 

From here, you can create an Intuit account that provides a secure, single-source login for access to all of Intuit’s powerful offerings, including owned QuickBooks Desktop software and connected services.

 

Here's how you do it:

  1. Open your company file or open an existing company file. Choose either You’re the admin or I’m not an admin.
  2. Click on Continue.
  3. If you’re the admin you’ll be prompted to enter your Email or user ID, then enter your Password.
  4. Select Sign In.

Access QB Desktop

Thank you for the CAMP information!  However, I cannot open my QB to follow your directions.  This was my original post:

The response I received to my query advised me to check my CAMP and asked what product I have.  You responded and gave me directions on setting up CAMP.  Is there another way to get to it as I cannot open my QB Desktop?   From everything I am reading, as a single user on QB Desktop Pro 2021 for WIN, I should not need a subscription and if I did, it would be way too soon - I purchased it on 1/24/21.  I can't find a number to call to get help to open my file and quarterly taxes will be due soon.  I am getting very worried :(

Have you checked your license status in your CAMPS? If you are not able to access your CAMPS or find your license information in there, Support won't help to resolve your issue.

Thanks for your prompt reply, mek543.

 

I'd like to share some steps to help you fix the error.

 

After logging in to CAMPS, get the license information. Then, download and install QuickBooks Desktop for 2021 with correct license. Before doing so, make sure you have a backup copy of your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

 

If QuickBooks is already installed, make sure to update your program to the latest release. Then, try to open your account again. 

 

Otherwise, follow the other solutions in this article: Fix Error: Verify your subscription before installing QuickBooks Desktop.

 

If you're still getting the same result, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team by following these steps:

 

  1. Go to this link: Contact Us.
  2. In the Which QuickBooks do you need help with? window, select QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Select the edition and enter your concern.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Choose either the Chat with us or Have us call you button.
