Join nowI have a company that have to use it at the same time but on two diffrent computer, networks, and locations. Is that possilbe and if so how to I go about doing this? I am using QuickBooks Desktop Accountant 2020 and are windows based.
Hello there, bbdh12.
Set up a multi-user network so you can access your company files from other computers. Each separate user must have a valid license to use the QuickBooks software. Your employees can log in and access the same QuickBooks file if you have installed the QuickBooks Database Server Manager on your server and authorized users to access your QuickBooks company file.
To help you in setting up the multi-user mode, you can use this link: Set up and install a multi-user network for QuickBooks Desktop.
Let me know if you have other questions. Take care!
You may have 2 options:
1. Deploy a private cloud

2. Purchase a QB cloud hosting service

I am trying to get some understanding and find a best practice. Sometimes I work from home and sometimes I work in the office. So I need to be able to access the company file from both locations with two computers.
My solution for this was to keep the the company file in Dropbox which keeps it synced. But I get a feeling this is not a correct way to do it, might even cause problems.
Is there a proper solution for my needs? IndigoCard Login
As far as I know, a cloud storage (e.g DropBox or GDrive) is not designed to host a dynamic file (e.g QBW). You should download the file to your local machine every time you need to open it on QB and upload it back once you are finished. Should you need to access the company file on 2 machines at the same time, consider 2 options as I mentioned earlier.
