Acquisition inventory

Hello, Jay Stewart.

Congratulations on your business expansion! Happy to lend a hand and get your inventory items into your new file.

You can use QuickBooks Enterprise's Advanced Import feature to get all of your items and their quantities into your new file. Before anything else, you'll want to create an Excel spreadsheet for them using a specific format.

Follow the guide under Option 2: Step 4 in this article: Import or export MS Excel files.

After creating the spreadsheet, here's how you can import your file:

  1. Click the File menu, hover your mouse on Utilities
  2. Choose Import, then select Excel Files.
  3. On the window prompt, click No
  4. Click the Advanced Import button.
  5. Browse for your file, then hit Import

You can find more information about the import process from the article I've linked above.

As additional option, consider a 3rd tool to migrate inventories and outstanding balance of invoices/bills.
