Welcome to the Community, Simon. In QuickBooks, you can’t deactivate a vehicle while it is designated as the primary one. To proceed, assign a different vehicle as the primary, which will then allow you to mark the original as inactive.

Start by navigating to the Miles menu and clicking the dropdown arrow located next to Add Trip. From there, select the specific vehicle you wish to designate, toggle the Set as primary vehicle button, and click Save to confirm your selection.

To deactivate the vehicle, go to the Miles or Mileage > Add Trip > Manage vehicles. Choose what vehicle you want to deactivate, then click Vehicle no longer in use and follow the remaining prompts to complete the deactivation process.

For more detailed instructions on managing your vehicles, refer to this article: Set up vehicles and mileage tracking to use with the mobile app.
