Adding an existing payroll account to desktop

Hello

I have an existing intuit payroll account. It's CORE-stand alone payroll. I need to set up my payroll account in QuickBooks Desktop 2020. I went to the employees section, set up payroll. I'm entering the 12 digit payroll service key, but it's saying it can't be found. What am I doing wrong? Can CORE payroll be added to desktop? Where can I find the product key?

Hi @charr3ll,

 

Welcome to the Community. I can share some clarification about your existing payroll account.

 

Currently, you can only use the Payroll Core subscription in QuickBooks Online. For the Desktop version, there are three options available for you to subscribe.

 

You can either purchase the Basic payroll, Enhanced payroll or Assisted payroll. Since you previously used Payroll Core, the equivalent in Desktop is the Assisted version.

Once the order is confirmed, you'll receive an email regarding the activation.
