Adding an Inventory Item that is a sub-item of a package

I am new to invoicing with QB and have started using QB Online.

One of the biggest draw backs I see getting started is that I purchase and sell a large number of items as "package quantities" but also sell "partial package quantities" as well.

So say I purchase and sell a package of 6 widgets at a package price of $6.00.

I also sell individual widgets for $1.50.

I do not see any way that I can set this up so that the individual items sold remove from my package inventory and still make the additional $0.50.

Making a bundle item does not work for this either.

Looking for best resolution for this small delima.

Thanks,

JM

Adding an Inventory Item that is a sub-item of a package

Thanks for reaching out to us, jwdvm11.

Currently, we're unable to track quantity on hand for bundles. The individual items that you've sold won't be removed from the bundle package inventory. Additionally, there is no additional markup or change in price for bundles since they're not assemblies. The price of the bundle is the total price of all its items.

In the meantime, you'll want to consider visiting our QuickBooks App Center to find a third-party application that best suits your business needs. You can also follow these simple steps:

  1. Login to qbo.intuit.com
  2. Select Apps from the sidebar menu.
  3. Go to the Find Apps tab.
  4. Enter a keyword or click the Browse category button to filter the results.
In case you'll need to get helpful insights on the things you buy and sell, we can pull up the inventory reports.

As always, I'm just a post away if you have any other concerns or follow-up questions. Stay safe and have a great rest of the day.
