Adding or Editing Items

I am using Quickbooks Desktop for MAC 2021 on Big Sur 11.1. When I try to add an item or edit an existing item, the program crashes. Anyone else having this problem?

We have received several reports about QB Mac 2021 on Big Sur 11.1 is crashing when trying to edit or create an item. This issue seems to be related to the new update of Big Sur that just released.

Our Product Engineers are now working to fix it as quickly as possible. While they do, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team, so you'll be added to the list affected users and be notified when information becomes available (INV-53063).

I can provide an update about the issue, 110Sam.

The Crash Catcher while editing or creating list item in QB Mac 2021 on Big Sur 11.1 has been resolved in the latest R4 release of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2021.

QuickBooks by default will download this for you automatically. if you have auto update disabled, you can download the update. Let me show you how:

Step 1: Uninstall QuickBooks for Mac

Close QuickBooks.
From the Finder menu, select Go Applications.
Drag the QuickBooks icon to the Trash.

Step 2: Reinstall the latest version

Go to QuickBooks Downloads & Updates.
Make sure to select the correct country, product, and version.
Select Search.
Select Download to download the installer file.
Double-click the .dmg file.
Drag the QuickBooks icon to the Applications folder to install.Note: To verify the update and check the release number, open QuickBooks and press Cmd+1.

Step 3: Restore your company file in QuickBooks.

Step 4: Update QuickBooks Server for Mac

Go to QuickBooks [year] Server next to the Apple logo.
Select Check for Quickbooks Server updates, then Install Update.
Click Install and Relaunch.

Once done, you can continue adding or editing an item.
