I can share with you some insights into how your employee access QuickBooks Accountant Desktop, @123kimhazen

Also, you have correctly purchased an additional license to give your employee access.

Usually, the amount of licenses you have for the product equals the number of users that can be logged in, actively working within the program, at one time. When an employee runs QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), the employee has to determine that they open the exact folder location on where the company file is stored.

In case you'll want to review your multiuser setup if they're able to see the company file. I suggest checking out the following article that gives details about hosting your company data in multi-user mode in QuickBooks Desktop. This includes a link on how to properly set up folder permissions.

Please let me know if you have more questions or concerns about giving additional access to QuickBooks Desktop. I'm always around to help you with this. Take care always!

If you don't have any experience to setup a multiuser environment and time to learn it, consider to put your license and company file(s) on an authorized QB cloud hosting.

Or you may deploy a private cloud at your premise.
