adjusting entry

Hello - I'm trying to enter some adjusting entries for depreciation but I don't see the "Is this an adjusting entry" box? I'm sure I am missing something (newbie)

Thanks for any help!

Hey there, @Ebookkeeper.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I hope you're enjoying the day so far.

The ability to see the "Is Adjusting Journal Entry?" box is only available in our Accountant version in QuickBooks Online. However, I can see how having this available in our other versions of QuickBooks would be beneficial for you and your business. If you'd like, I can submit product feedback to our developer team, so this could be considered in a future update.

Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns. I'll be here to help you every step of the way. You can always reach out to us here in the Community anytime you need assistance. Take care!

Why?

Depreciation is a one time annual entry (usually), a debit to depreciation expense and a credit to accumulated depreciation (asset name).

adjusting entries are the same as a regular journal entry, the adjusting is just a tag which displays on the trial balance report to highlight them.
