I don't understand why QBO developers are not testing the changes after they are made. the Search is not working like before
i wanted to find invoice no 2315 but it returns no items found. see the attachment
also when i try to find invoices by custom filed "Reference No" it shows only 1 invoice instead of 2 invoices.
the develops need to fix this ASAP.
Thank you for sharing the screenshots providing how you wanted the Search function to work. Let me offer help and share how you can better work with the result suggestion while searching for your transactions.
To start with, I was able to locate the specific invoice I'm looking for while utilizing search. In most cases, the frequently accessed page resources stored on your browser may affect your browsing experience.
They can cause unexpected browser problems like how the said feature is not working its function as expected. Let's consider logging in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private or incognito window so we can isolate this issue. To do so:
If this works, you can clear your regular browser's cache so the system can start fresh and remove the unnecessary browsing history that covers the storage of your browser. But if you get the same results while following the suggestion above, use a different browser app instead.
Also, our Community Help Articles related to your account and company management allow you to browse for references while working with us. In this reference, you're able to read through the steps commonly used to review and configure your accounts and settings.
If there's anything else that I can help you with aside from how you can work well with QBO, please let me know by leaving any comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand. Stay safe!
sorry, your suggestion is good for nothing!
Every time when I report error, I get same reply from QB team, I report the error after trying all these options.
The error is not related to browser and inform your developer to fix it ASAP, please.
This isn't the kind of experience we want you to have while utilizing the Search tool in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @SuperStar777. With this, I'm here to guide you in reporting the error you've encountered so it'll be fixed in no time.
There's a need to further investigate the cause of the Search tool's behavior when finding your transactions. To report this, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care team. They can securely pull up your account, identify the reason for the error, and guide you with a fix.
We've updated our support options in QBO. You'll have to request a conversation (i.e., chat or callback) with one of our support through the Help menu inside QuickBooks.
You'll first have to check out our support hours to ensure we can assist you on time. Here's how:
I've attached a screenshot below that shows the last six steps.

I too have been having these issues and nothing I've read that has been suggested works. I am so incredibly frustrated!!! And of course it happens at a time when I need to quickly access information and quickly make invoices.
Why take that functionality away, to begin with?
I suppose the good news is that I'm not the decision maker in what we use for accounting. Because if I were this would be enough to make me switch programs.
Thanks for joining this conversation, @Jimbo15.
This has been reported as an ongoing issue with QuickBooks Online (QBO). A ticket was already created and forwarded to our Product Engineers. They're now working to fix this as quickly as possible.
That said, I highly suggest contacting our Support team so they can add your details to our notification list. This will help our Engineers determine the number of affected users. An email notification will be sent to you once this has been resolved. I'll also inform you here when we get the update as well.

I'll help with your question about the Advanced Search function. I'd also like to ask if you're not able to search transactions that are 2 years older?
I’d like to let you know we have made changes to the way the date filter in the Advanced Search filter works. In the past, customers were able to run a query expanding as far back as the date their QBO account creation date. These types of queries have caused performance issues in the near past so changes were necessary to ensure QBO availability and, at the same time, access to all your data.
That is why starting last Wednesday, June 16th, 2021, we have changed the way the date filter in the Advanced Search works. You will still have access to all data entered into QBO, the date filter will limit you to look for information in two-year blocks. Thus, if your QBO subscription started in 2015, you will be able to look for information from 2015 - 2017 or 2016 - 2018, etc.
For now, you can run a Transaction List by Date report. Then, customize the date to locate the transaction that's 2 years older. You can also check out this article for additional guidance and reference: Customize Reports in QuickBooks Online.
We appreciate your patience and look forward to hearing from you if you have further feedback.
I was having the same problem and found it incredibly frustrating, but after speaking to our bookkeeper, she identified that the issue is related to the Date Filter. In your case, the date is set to only look for results from 01/01/2020. If you click on the Date Filter, you can change the date to something else, and it should work. I changed the date to 01/01/2007 as that is when our company incorporated, and voila, the Search function is working again. Really surprised that the QBO team could not respond with that suggestion :)
