Hello there, @kathygallant207. No worries,  I can help you with that.

You need to have your payroll set up before you can print a paycheck. To align checks for printing, you can follow these steps.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Payroll settings under Your Company.
  3. Under Preferences, click Paycheck Printing.
  4. You can select either Plain paper stubs (to accompany handwritten checks) or Preprinted QuickBooks®-compatible voucher check stock option. Tip: If this is the first time you're printing checks, select Align check.
  5. Click OK to reflect the changes.

Then, continue with these steps.

  1. Select Open Alignment Window, then print the sample check.
  2. Follow the instructions, then close the window.
  3. Select Align Checks, then print the PDF file.
  4. Follow the instructions, then enter the letter and number that fits best.
  5. Select Update Settings, then OK.

For more tips, please check out this article: Fix print alignment for preprinted checks.

Once done, follow these steps to print them.

  1. Go to the  Payroll menu.
  2.  Within the Employees tab, select Paycheck List.
  3. Select the paychecks you'd like to print.
  4.  Then, select Print.

You can browse these links that I've attached for more details about creating and printing paper checks:
