We can perform basic troubleshooting steps to see if it's a browser issue that's why the contractor email addresses are greyed out and none of them have received a link for 1099s. Sometimes your browser's cache and cookies become corrupted, causing problems when accessing websites or opening files. To begin, open your QBO account in an incognito window. It will prevent the browser history from being saved. Please refer to the following keyboard shortcuts based on your browser type:
If the private browsing session works, you'll need to clear the browser's cache so the system can restart. This task is also possible in other supported, up-to-date browsers. Clearing the cache will reboot the system, allowing you to work with clearing the cache. It will also help you get rid of any junk files that might be slowing down your work.

In addition, you are aware that I am not trying to get/produce any type of report, correct?
The subject refers to Contractors not having received email notification regarding their filed 1099's.
All Contractor email addresses are grayed out in their edit profile areas.
I was asking if this was the reason.
Allow me to join the discussion and provide you with some information about your contractor not receiving an email notification of an e-filed 1099, Laura.
I'd like to confirm whether your contractor added their email address to their profile. If so, that explains why it's grayed out, but that shouldn't be the reason they didn't receive the email. Unless the email address is incorrect, it must be updated.
Furthermore, 199 E-File form email confirmation is sent approximately a week after the IRS accepts and confirms submissions. Also, it may not be received until the middle of January or later.

In the list of Contractors that we prepared and submitted 1099's for, ALL of their personal details show an email address that was either entered by the Contractor or one of my team.
NONE of them have received notification via email to view the 1099.
ALL 1099 submissions were processed and I received the notification that the IRS has accepted them on 1/21/23.
When I go to the Contractor profile and click the pencil, I would not be able to do anything to their email address because that field is not clickable. ALL GRAY but I can see their email address FAINTLY.
I am asking if this is an issue as to why they didn't get the notification.

As my colleague shared above, your contractors will receive a notification a week after the IRS accepts and confirms the submission. If they still haven't received an email, you can contact our phone support team so we can check your account further.

Did you ever get a resolution to this issue? All my emails for my contractors are greyed out as well. 1099s were submitted online through QBO Payroll on 1/23/23 and SOME of the contractors just received an email yesterday!!! I went to update an email for a contractor and I can not. Very frustrating. I shouldn't have to call support. Your original question is my exact situation at the moment -- hoping for a resolution.
