Bank Feeds Not Working for Chase and Bank of America

I have been having issues with Chase and Bank of America bank feeds. Recently, I tried to log in via Chase and received the below error. Please note I am not the primary account holder for these banks; I simply have read-only access as the accountant/CPA for these businesses:

Update your connection

Looks like you didn’t complete the connection with Chase Bank.

We'll take you to your bank now to reconnect your account. Then we'll return you here and get everything back on track. (571)

Re: Bank Feeds Not Working for Chase and Bank of America

Can you confirm this issue is a universal issue with the bank feeds and that it is not specific to just one bank?

Thanks for the quick response, troy1.

Allow me to help and share some information concerning the bank feeds issues with QuickBooks Online.

I'd like to check this for you and get it taken care of myself. However, as much as I would like to get this handled directly, banking issues require pulling up account information and needs to confirm with other Financial Institution, which I am unable to do in this public forum.

For security reasons, you may need to get in touch with our QuickBooks Online Support for them to investigate further.

Re: Bank Feeds Not Working for Chase and Bank of America

I can also no longer disconnect the bank account from the bank feed. There was previously a button "Disconnect on Save" and it is no longer visible. Are there no longer certain permissions available from the banks?

Re: Bank Feeds Not Working for Chase and Bank of America

Hello, @troy1.

The Disconnect this account on save option should be available when the account is connected to bank feeds. Let’s try performing some basic troubleshooting to fix the issue.

You can start by loading the site using a different browser or a private window. Cache tends to hold onto information and, after a while, it can cause issues in the web pages like errors inside QuickBooks.

Here’s how:

  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Internet Explorer)
  • Command + Shift + N (Safari)
  • Ctrl+ Shift + N (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox

If this works, make sure to clear your default browser’s cache to continue using it without any problem. Here’s an article to help you with the process: Clear cache and temporary Internet files.

Another way to disconnect the account is by making it inactive. Follow the steps below:

  1. From the Chart of Accounts, look for the account you want to inactivate.
  2. Click the View register drop-down next to it and select Make inactive
  3. Hit Yes on the message prompt.

If you wish to activate and connect the account to QuickBooks again, check out these articles for the detailed steps:

That should do it. Keep me updated on how this goes. I’m always here ready to help. Take care!
