OK, I have the barcode feature enabled in Quickbooks inventory, and I have a barcode scanner. now what do i do? I want to use it to count our inventory and eventually begin using it to populate invoices. where do I begin? do I just go and scan the barcodes? I let QB generate barcodes for my products, and printed them out as labels and put them on my items ( test items) so how do i get the info into quickbooks? help. I am completly lost??? Natalie C.
This still does not help me. I am completely set up, I have barcodes for all my products, and have a scanner. I need to know what to do now, I can go into my warehouse and scan all day long, but then what? how do I get the info into QuickBooks? do I need to import it? do I need to install an additional program that will get my scans from the scanner into QuickBooks? these are the things I need to find information about, not how to set it up. I have already done that.....
There's no need to import information or install an additional application. QuickBooks will automatically replace or generate the barcode in the program once you scan the item.
If you want to change the QuickBooks generated barcode, please refer to these steps below:
1. Go to the Lists menu at the top. 2. Pick Item List on the drop-down.
3. Open an item, then start scanning.
