Build assemblies pulling partial QTYs

Hello all.  Hopefully I'm posting this question in the proper area.

Is there a way to set restrictions so QB will not pull a partial QTY for a build assembly?  I have attached an example.  Line item #4 pulled .916667 and I did not notice that it did this at the time of the build.  We only deal in whole numbers/QTY so it should have pulled 1 unit, not the partial.  I have had this happen to me on several occasions and it tends to sneak past me.  How can I prevent this?  How does it transpire?  If I had less than the QTY of 1 unit on hand at the time I would not have been able to complete the build.  Thanks for any direction.

Build assemblies pulling partial QTYs

You came into the right place for support, barrett59105.

I appreciate the screenshot you've provided. Looking at it, the issue starts the moment you create an assembly. It's possible that the item was entered with a quantity of 0.91667 reason why the same digit appears when you build an assembly.

To correct this, go back to the inventory assembly and edit the item QTY. I'll show you the steps below:

  1. Go to the Inventory menu and choose Item List.
  2. Locate the inventory assembly. Right-click it and choose Edit Item.
  3. Edit the item's QTY and click OK.

Once done, it will show the correct quantity when you start building your assembly. Here's a sample screenshot of the outcome:

I’m also adding these articles that'll help you learn more information about assembly:

To learn more about it, kindly refer to this article: Adjust your inventory quantity or value in QuickBooks Desktop. It contains a step-by-step guide on how to update your inventory.

I'm only a few clicks away if you need assistance with your other QuickBooks tasks. It's always my pleasure to help you out again.
