can anyone tell me how to widen the "description" field in my estimates?

In my quickbooks online, the description is long in my estimate and it only shows about 20 characters before it goes to the next line down. i have maximized the little scroll bar (the width of the description field) but nothing changes. Any ideas??

fields are defined by the programmers, they can not be changed (widened) by the user

Hi, @scurrier. Let me join the thread and share information about widening the Description field for your estimate entries.

I understand that you need to maximize the Description field. We won't be able to enlarge that for now but it widens automatically once you add details from there. I'm adding these screenshots as your visual reference.

If you need to modify the column, you can always submit your feedback directly to our developer team. This way, they'll know how useful the feature is for your business and consider it in the coming updates.

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  4. Hit Next.

Once done, your valuable suggestion goes to our designated team to help improve your experience in QBO. You may track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

For more tips, while recording your estimates, open this article: Create and send estimates in QuickBooks Online. The same resource will guide you on how to convert it into an invoice.
