Can I add a 2nd company to my Quickbooks 2019 for mac desktop?

I have quickbooks 2019 for MAC and would like to add a 2nd company...I see "new company" tab and I want to be sure that's is where I would do it....If that's possible. I just don't want to mess anything up.

QuickBooks Desktop for Mac allows you to add multiple companies. That said, adding your second company is not a problem.

Here's how:

Open QuickBooks and click File on the top menu bar.
Select New Company from the drop-down list.
Enter your company name and other information, then click Save.
Follow the onscreen instructions and click Finish.

If you want to switch between the two companies, just follow the instructions below:

Go to the File menu.
Select Open Recent.
Choose the company file you want to work on and click Open.

I see a "New Company" option, but before I try and do this, I want to be sure I won't mess up the company file for my existing company currently using QB Mac Plus 2022 desktop.

Adding a new company does nothing to your existing company files. Company files are independent of each other. Charies_M has shared the right steps above.
