can I add a line to an Estimate that has had all others lines invoiced?

I added a line item to am estimate that was already invoiced, now it will not let me invoice the added line. Is this normal?

You can still add a line item to an Estimate that has already been invoiced once you've turned on progress invoicing, Vince.

Progress invoicing enables you to split an estimate into multiple invoices and lets you add items that can be invoiced again once completed. Here's how to turn it on:

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
  2. Go to the Sales tab and turn on Progress Invoicing.
  3. Click Save and Done.

After that, open the estimate you want to update and add a line item. Here's what to do:

  1. Go to Sales transactions and open the estimate by clicking View/Edit.
  2. Add a new line item under Product and Service.
  3. Change the estimate's status to Accepted so the Convert to Invoice option becomes available.
  4. Click the Remaining total of all lines to include the added line item in the invoice, and hit Create invoice.
  5. Modify its quantity if needed. Once done, tick Review and Send.
