Can I change the amount of hours in a bill to correct it, then see it appear as corrected in the invoice?

Yes, you have two options to change the number of hours for a billable time entry, Fleah.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can either delete or manually edit the amount in the invoice. However, please note that if you need to adjust the billable hours on an invoice, you must first modify the original time entry to show the correct number of hours.

Here is how you can manually edit the existing invoice with the incorrect amount of hours:

  1. Open the invoice, then click on the Amount column to edit the amount of hours billed to the specific customer.
  2. Once done, click Save and Close.

To delete the incorrect amount of billable hours:

  1. Open the invoice with the incorrect amount of billable hours.
  2. Click the link option next to the delete button for the specific line item.
  3. This will take you to the original time entry, where you can update the number of billable hours.
  4. Once you have updated the hours, unlink the entry from the invoice and delete it.

Once the previous invoice has been removed, you can create a new invoice, and the corrected hours will appear accurately on it. Note that creating a new invoice will also update the invoice number.
