Can I change the default account for where payments go on my phone app? I do not use undeposited funds account, and as I process the payment, I have to be sure to scroll

I have to scroll down to the bottom as I process a payment and open up another menu to select my bank account because it defaults to undeposited funds. Easy to forget, makes a big mess. Can I change this to default to my bank account?

Hello there, insulate.

We're unable to change the default account where payments go on your QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app. That said, you can update the deposit bank account using a web browser by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online on a web browser.
  2. Click the Settings (gear icon) and select Account and settings.
  3. Go to the Payments tab, in the Deposits section next to Standard Deposits, click Change bank.
  4. Add your bank account and routing number, then select Save.
  5. Verify the new bank account by entering the two small amounts deposited.
  6. Review and complete the update.

After this, all future QuickBooks Payments deposits will go directly to your selected bank account. However, please note that when processing payments in the app, it will still default to Undeposited Funds, so you’ll have to manually select your bank account each time to avoid payments being left in Undeposited Funds.

Refer to this article for more details about the process: Change the deposit bank account.
