I'm here to provide you with some information on how to e-file your 1099s from QuickBooks Online (QBO), @reneemathes10.
If a contractor does not want to provide their email address for e-filing, you can still send them a paper copy of the 1099 form. The IRS allows electronic delivery of 1099 recipient statements, but the recipient must consent to receive the statement electronically. If they do not provide consent, a paper copy must be provided. Therefore, if a contractor does not provide their email address for electronic delivery, you are still required to send them a paper copy of the 1099 form.
When preparing the forms, you can either e-file your 1099s or print and mail them yourself. If you issued them already, please know there's a limit on the number of paper forms you can file by paper. Otherwise, utilize the e-file service so QuickBooks can do everything for you. Therefore, printing your own and e-filing them only in QuickBooks is unavailable.

Thanks for the quick reply. Doesn't really address my question though. However, I did talk to QBO via telephone and they confirmed that I can both send some 1099-NEC electronically and others through the mail. I just have to also complete a form 1096 as a cover sheet to include with the paper 1099-NEC that I file via USPS. So ultimately, team effort to provide me an answer. Thanks QBO!
