can I recover an accidentally deleted description in an estimate form?

Yes, twistedsteelfabs. You can recover the deleted description by using the undo command (Ctrl+Z).

Beforehand, please know that Ctrl+Z will only work if you haven't closed the estimate yet or refreshed your browser. Otherwise, the deletion will be permanent, requiring you to enter the data again.

To effectively track descriptions and safeguard against unexpected loss, I recommend initially recording and storing them in a spreadsheet or any digital note-taking application. It allows you to easily copy and paste the information into your transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Alternatively, you can set it up directly to the product or service so it will automatically populate once selected on sales forms. Here's how:

  1. Click Sales, then Product & services.
  2. Locate the item from the list and choose Edit from the Action column.
  3. Fill in the Description field in the Sales section.
  4. Hit Save.

For more guidance in managing items you buy and sell, scan this material: Add product and service items to QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you'll want to convert an estimate directly into an invoice once you get the customer's approval. These entries will be linked to each other, keeping your record accurate.

We hope the details above enhance your experience when making estimates in QuickBooks Online. Should you need further assistance, feel free to add a comment below. We're always around the corner to lend a hand!
