Can journal entries be made to show up as liabilities to be paid?

We used a different service to pay employees, and was told I would need to manual entrer the payroll deductions in quickbooks.  These used to show up in my payroll liabilities when we used Quickbooks for payroll.   Now how do I make entries to show the items need to be paid and when they have been paid?

Yes, you can use a journal entry to record your payroll liabilities and expenses. You should consult with your Accountant on this as they can create a recurring payroll journal entry for you and advise you on the process to follow going forward. For my clients, I use a combination of journal entries and bill entries that clear the payroll liabilities when the bill payments are made.
