Re: Can QuickBooks card reader be directly connected with cord to Apple device?

Hello, @rosegrows.

I'd be happy to help share some information about using a card reader with your QuickBooks payments account.

Yes, you can directly connect using a cord to an Apple device using the USB Magtek card reader. Please check this article for more information: Install and use the USB Magtek card reader with a QuickBooks payments account.

Let me also route you this related reference as well: Set up Bluetooth Card Reader for GoPayment or QuickBooks Online mobile.

Also, if you need assistance, you can reach out to our Merchant Services Team for additional help.

I'll be here to help if you have other questions about compatible card reader for QuickBooks. Have a good one.

We have the Chip and Magstripe Bluetooth Card Reader and the Bluetooth does not hardly work. I am wanting to directly connect it to an Apple product and avoid Bluetooth all together. Will it work if it is directly connected and not using Bluetooth?

We have the Chip and Magstripe Bluetooth Card Reader and the Bluetooth is not reliable. Can this be connected directly to an Apple device and work without using Bluetooth?

I can provide more details how the card reader works, @rosegrows.

Connecting it via Bluetooth is one of the ways on how to use it.

The Chip and Magstripe Bluetooth Card Reader can also be connected directly to other QuickBooks accounts. It's compatible to GoPayments, QuickBooks Desktop, and QuickBooks Online.

This is a plug and play type of reader. That means you only need to plug it in your computer's USB port. Once it's showing on the Devices & Printers, then you're good to go.

To guide you on processing the payments, you can check these articles:

Also, here's a quick guide to make sure the card reader works perfectly via Bluetooth: Set up Bluetooth Card Reader for GoPayment or QuickBooks Online mobile.

As always, I'm here to help if you need anything else.
